MEDIUM NIGHT WITH GARY MCKINSTRY

Ice Sculpture Contest

Sturbridge: The Friends of Sturbridge Trails (FrOST), with support from the Sturbridge Tourist Association, is holding its annual ice sculpture contest on Saturday, February 15th starting at 11 am. Ice sculptures will be set out along the Grand Trunk Trail located on the Riverlands, 52 Stallion Hill Rd. In addition to ice sculpture judging, there will be family/kids’ games of ice golf, ice bowling and an ice obstacle course. Also, an ice carving demonstration will take place from 11 am to 1 PM.

Judging of the ice sculptures will start at 11. Ice sculptures will be on display until they melt! The grand prize is a gift card to a local restaurant. Please direct all questions to Jen at jenchris27@aol.com

February 19-21, 2025

Old Sturbridge Village

Times: 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

During February school vacation week (February 19-21, 2025), Old Sturbridge Village invites educators to visit the Village for free!* Learn more and plan your visit.

Enjoy the unique charm of winter in New England as you explore 200+ acres and 40+ historical buildings, chat with costumed historians, and watch demonstrations of 19th-century skills like pottery and blacksmithing. Teachers can also participate in drop-in, hands-on crafts, 19th-century school lessons, short tours of the Village, and talks with members of the Collections and Research team on these dates. Look for a table to sign up for these activities in the Visitor Center after you arrive. This is a great opportunity for teachers to acquaint themselves with all that the Village has to offer and explore how they might plan a field trip to the Village for their students! This week is also the start of Maple Days at the Village!

*Teacher must show a valid teacher ID card, paystub, or other proof of being a teacher, principal, or school aid at the Visitor Center to receive free admission. Offer valid for teachers only, not others in their party. 

Gateway Players Theatre: Plaza Suite

Gateway Players Theatre in Southbridge, MA presents "Plaza Suite”, the first show of our 50th Anniversary Season. This comedy is written by Neil Simon.

Performance dates are February 21, 22, 28 and March 1 at 7:30pm and March 2 at 2:00pm. The performances are held at Fellowship Hall of Elm Street Congregational Church, 61 Elm Street in Southbridge, MA. Entrance is on Park Street (around the corner). Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for seniors and youth under 18. Tickets may be reserved by calling Gateway at 508-764-4531.

Tutti Quanti Wine Tasting: February 25, 6:30 - 8:00pm

Wine and food pairing events are a delightful culinary experience. Savor a carefully curated selection of our wines paired with our products.  

Attendees gain insights into the principles of pairing different wines with specific types of cuisine, creating a sensory journey that celebrates the nuances of both food and wine in a relaxed, social atmosphere.

Events start at 6:30 pm. Registration fee is $15. Note there is no seating. Guests will receive a $5 voucher to be used for a store purchase and are able to shop for wine and food after the event.
