CRRL Launches Youth Services Programming Van

Library Delivers Services Directly to the Community

Fredericksburg, Virginia, March 6, 2020 - Central Rappahannock Regional Library (CRRL) has launched a new Youth Services Programming Vehicle, which will bring essential library services out into the community, including:

STEM learning
Educational activities
Wifi access
Computers and printing
Information on free classes and events at library branches
Small browsing collection of youth materials

CRRL is working with local school divisions and community organizations to identify neighborhoods which can benefit the most. In March, this service kicks off with regularly scheduled stops offering literacy and STEM-focused programs for after-school homework clubs at these locations:

Stafford Junction
Heritage Park Apartments
Hazel Hill Apartments

The Youth Services Programming Vehicle is made possible by a grant from the Duff McDuff Green, Jr. Fund of The Community Foundation, and a gift from Midge Vittoria.

This new vehicle is an expansion of CRRL's Library on the Go initiative, which brings library programs, services, and resources out into the community. Library on the Go increases access to library services for residents in rural Spotsylvania County through two satellite locations, expands early childhood literacy through Grow a Reader Outreach, provides library materials to assisted living facilities and senior apartments through Lobby Stops, and brings library information and resources to thousands of local residents at festivals, expos, and community events across the region.
