Former Student Gives Back
Former CRY-ROP student visits with current students at YHS

Our Intro to Criminal Justice and Criminal Investigation teacher Mr. Robinson at Yucaipa High School, welcomed his former student Tyler during career options week.  Tyler is now a Community Service Officer for the Redlands Police Department.  He shared his life story with current students, his career choice, and what he learned in class. Tyler thanked Mr. Robinson and CRY-ROP for changing his life, as he starts his career in law enforcement. Thank you to Tyler for visiting our students, and giving back to the community.

Industry Guests

Industry professionals participate at the high schools and middle schools we serve. The information students in our districts learn from our business and community partners are always eye-opening and appreciated. We welcome industry professionals to visit our classrooms, and speak to our students about their career field.

Most of our guests interact with students in the career center, classroom, or virtually via the web. Our partners have participated as student project judges, industry panels, career fairs, and acted as mock interviewers to prepare our students for the world of work.

Educator & Industry Partner Collaboration
Advisories bring together business, community, and educational partners to review new and existing courses. In addition, regional advisory meetings welcome guest speakers and panelists to discuss the current job market, trends, and skills most wanted by employers in the industry.  This helps educators prepare their students to be College and Career ready.

Some of the advisories include breakout sessions that bring everyone together to share ideas and network.  Advisories in Agriculture, Energy, Construction and Utilities, and Video Game Design were recently completed.  We have regional advisories coming up in the upcoming months.

If you would like to participate in our advisories and/or online industry surveys to open the possibilities for your future workforce, please email our Community Recruiters for more information.

Thank you to the following business and post-secondary partners for sharing their insights to keep our courses up to date, assisting our educators and preparing our students for employment in their chosen industry:

Community Classroom
Sports Medicine student from Colton High School assisting soccer player at Valley College

CRY-ROP partners with local businesses to place students in Community Classroom where students gain hands-on experience in their field of study. Our partners assist us in training our students in technical, and soft skills at their place of business. This hands-on experience better prepares them for their future career. Some partners who have recently welcomed our students for Community Classroom are: Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, Redlands Community Hospital, Walgreens, and Loma Linda Animal Hospital.

Another great example is Mr. Sola's Sports Medicine class at Colton High School.  Mr. Sola works with his students to train at San Bernardino Valley College.  His students put their learned skills to use in a real world environment.  Valley College has Mr. Sola's students wrap injuries, and other basic sports medicine services during their athletic games. Thank you to all our Community Classroom sites for opening their doors to our students.
