News from MCYC

We are sorry to report that the 2022 Annual St. Patrick's Day weekend scheduled for March 18th-20th at Multnomah Channel Yacht Club has been cancelled. Please make sure to pass this on to all members of your clubs so those who might have been planning to attend can be aware of this change.
Opening Day - "Rose City Reunion"
Saturday, May 7th

We have the restored PT658 Boat looking to join us from their home port at Swan Island. Won't that be great to see her on the water?
You can read about this boats restoration Here.

We will update you as we firm up the days plans for the 2022 Opening Day Parade.
Rebuilding the Daughters of Neptune program

Welcome to the “New Daughters of Neptune” program 2022.
For this year only:

I would like to invite each club, to send an Ambassador to help rebuild CRYA'S boating, and water safety program (in addition to a current representative). The Ambassador should be a club member, parent or former Daughter of Neptune from any year.

Changing the tradition, the representative must be related to a club member as, daughter, son, grandchild, niece or nephew, between the age of 14 and18.
Clubs that have already submitted a representative or have someone in mind,(son or daughter etc.),will be the first to display the new logo, and reign under the new name(TBD). I would also like input from the 10 to 13 year old group, to see if a junior program is something to be considered .
Fees for this year only, for the new representatives, will cover the boaters safety class and clothing with the new name and logo.
Anyone who is interested in helping rebuild this program or have ideas or concerns,
Please Join us for our first meeting of the 2022 boating safety program on Saturday March 5th, 1PM at the Columbia River Yacht Club. 37 NE Tomahawk Island Drive on Jantzen Beach. You are welcome to come early as well to grab Lunch from the Galley.
I'm looking forward to this new organization, and hope to create a program that is fun and educational for everyone.
