Poker Run 2021 - August 21st

Columbia River Yacht Club will be hosting the opening and closing events for the day of the Poker Run. A big thanks for the help in that! On the website is the sign up form, and information on what the day will have in store for you. The CRYC Galley will be open for lunch from 11 to 1, and there will also be a special Saturday night buffet available as we add up our hands to find the winners, and of course the best loser for a prize as well. We look forward to having a great day. Please, if you or your business has a prize of some sort to donate let us know. Go to the website and see what is going on by clicking HERE
The 2021 CRYA Golf Tournament
Saturday Sept. 18th, 2021 at Wildwood Golf Course
Sponsored by: Sheffield Marine Propeller

Sign up sheets are ready, and sponsorships are now being solicited to help make this a great and fun event for CRYA. The website is now up and running and much of the needed information can now be found there. If you or someone you know would like to be a hole sponsor, golf ball sponsor, or any number of other possible sponsorship items please let us know. Profits from the Golf Tournament are used for making up the difference of club dues to cover operating expenses of the organization, but also to fund projects such as the Martin Slough docks, and other future boating facility upgrades.

Sign up HERE for Team or individual sign ups.
Please Think Twice, or take that Second Look - A recent story of how a simple day out boating for two different couples, had two very different endings.

Ken and Cheryl Williams headed out on an afternoon cruise to spend the evening down at the Kalama Marina. The events of that afternoon will live with them for a long time, and lucky for the other couple that went boating that afternoon, everyone will be able to tell the story of survival, and not the tragic loss of a life to drowning.

PLEASE - Read the whole story HERE
CRYA is proud to announce that the updated and upgraded www.CRYA.us website is now back up and running. We have provided many links to boating resources, local club contacts and websites, the Cruise Guide, pumpout locations and so much more. Please, take a look and see what you can find and if you can't find it let us know. There is also a feature for now to give feedback on things. Our Web Designer will leave that open as we fine tune things. Yeah!
Martin Slough Dock updates

We are happy to say that the updates to the newly acquired Martin Slough docks are coming along nicely, but not without the help of some folks.

A big Thank You to:

Rocky Pointe Marina - Stan Tonneson - owner was able to donate a large amount of chain to help secure the anchoring system to our new dock. Thank you to Stan and Rocky Pointe Marina for the donation

Dolphin Yacht Club - Jeff Kreagan helped with logistics as well as a nice large anchor to help secure the docks. Critical for long term safety of the docks.

DownRiver Company - Ron Bergmann has offered to help with dock signage and possible shore signage to help support good land owner relationships. Thank you Ron!
Letter from Andy Meyer - Executive Vice President of CRYA

During my 2-month trip to the east coast and back I did a lot of thinking about my years with CRYA and my future. I have had a very good and enjoyable 30 year run as delegate and the 9 years as Executive Vice President with one year as acting President as well. It has, however, become apparent to me that it is time for me to retire from CRYA and let the new order take the organization into the future. Therefore, I will retire from Executive Vice President of Columbia River Yachting Association as of December 31, 2021.
I have enjoyed the honor of being Executive Vice President of CRYA and I hope I have done it justice in the footsteps of Jim Schwitter and Doug Walker. I wish CRYA, its members and its leadership all the best in the future.

My Best Regards.
