2025 Cruise Schedule Submission Starts on

September 1st, at 12pm (Noon)

Hello, I hope you are all out enjoying this gorgeous boating season. This is just an early reminder that the submission date for your club’s 2025 cruise schedule is again on September 1st . Please send me your submissions (MS Word document preferably) starting September 1st 12pm (noon on Sept. 1st) and I will process them as first come, just like in years past. If your club has not completed them by September 1st, please try to get them in as soon as possible but no later than the November general meeting.

If there is a conflict, I will let you know as soon as I receive it and give the opportunity to work it out amongst the clubs who have that conflict. Thank you and I hope you are enjoying this gorgeous weather and time on the water. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.

Send them to me at jcoats@freshwaternews.com

Practice Day for the 2025 Opening Day Parade

CRYA is going to put together a practice for the upcoming 2025 Opening Day Parade. Although we don't have the specific date yet, we are thinking most likely early October. We would highly like to see all club Fleet Captains attend, but we just need boats for a couple of hours to simulate what we think is going to be the route on the Vancouver Waterfront. If you can help, please contact Tony Bacon. He can be reached at Tony@CRYA.us.

Daughters of Neptune need your help!

Our Director Alicia Robinson has been working to gather information from all the clubs on the history of the Daughters of Neptune. She is looking for Pictures, past Daughters of your clubs, and stories of events that have taken place in the 70th year of celebrating the program. If you can help, Please contact Alicia at Alicia@CRYA.us.

Do you Love Boating? Can you help us make it better for all? Volunteer and Join CRYA

Every Year we look to find Officers for our Executive Board. The biggest need is always a Two-year term that is first year as VP, and the second year as President. You represent your club, and it gives you insight into how CRYA is working to help the boating community. Of course we have other positions as well, one of which is a Webmaster. If you have a desire to help or need more information you can get ahold of us at info@CRYA.us. It is a great way to give back.

UPDATE: Volunteers Search for Invasive European

Green Crabs in Oregon

As a follow-up to last month's article about these creatures in the Puget Sound, this article looks at how they can impact our Crab and Shellfish industries in Oregon. For the complete story, click here

Despite its name, the European green crabs distinguishing feature is not its color, but the five spines to the outside of the eye on the shell. Emily Grason Washington Sea Grant

Please be mindful of your wake, and the rules of our

River System when Boating.

During the heavy boating season there is a Pass Through Zone designated by the OSMB to regulate wakes in the area from the Hawthorne Bridge to Waverly Marina. If you are not aware or sure of these regulations, you can find them Here.

This past month two Dragon Boats were capsized by an offending boater as reported in this KATU reporting Here.

Beacon Rock Docks Closed Until Further Notice!

Washington Parks have still not given any updates on the repair status of the Beacon Rock Docks. We will continue to look for information as to the repair status. Still both docks and pumpout remain closed.

Content in your Club's Newsletters that all Boaters should read?

We can't see every club's internal communication, but we have to think some of the articles would be great information for all boaters. If you find that article of interest, please forward it to cryanews@gmail.com after getting approval to share. We can all be more informed.
