REGISTRY
THE HERD LETTER FOR 2017 IS "E"
Total Herd Enrollment (THE) Billing (1st Installment)
Total Herd Enrollment (THE) participants has been billed for the 1st THE installment on April 3 for 2017 enrollment. Payment is due upon receipt of invoice. For members with a credit card on file at the office, fees will automatically be billed to your credit card. The 2nd THE installment will be invoiced October 1.
Please note that in the event an enrolled cow is shipped or sold between installment billings, the second installment is still due and payable by the member who enrolled the cow. For further information/instructions on Total Herd Enrollment, please go to
www.simmental.com under Registry | Total Herd Enrollment (THE).
Maternal Upgrade Registration Requests
The steps involved to import Non-Simmental pedigrees into the CSA herd book are as follows:
1. Please fax (or email) the Registration ID for the animal that needs to be entered.
2. To avoid delays in the staff returning the unique CSA identification for these animals, please ensure that you also include the Breeder Copy/DNA certificate showing the current DNA/SNP results for any males that are being entered. ** Important Note: If you were not the person that originally submitted the hair sample for the bull in question, you must obtain a copy of the DNA results by contacting the breed association office and speaking to someone in Registrations. Without a copy of these results, we will be unable to complete the pedigree entry.
3. For more information pertaining to Simmental fractions, please go to
www.simmental.com and navigate under - Resources |
Upgrade Table
Hair Samples for DNA Testing
Once you have ordered a DNA kit from the office and have received the form, please send hair samples directly to Delta Labs with applicable forms. Sending to the CSA office first causes a delay for you to receive results.

CANADIAN SIMMENTAL ASSOCIATION'S AWARD OF EXCELLENCE PROGRAM
Introducing the Canadian Simmental Association's Award of Excellence Program (AOE). The CSA AOE program is being created to promote and recognize the top Simmental bulls and females that are exhibited at shows across the country each year.
Each Provincial Simmental Association is selecting two shows that will qualify for the Award of Excellence Program (same day shows may both count for 1 but exhibitors may only enter animals at 1 of the 2 shows). Bulls and females exhibited at these qualifying shows will be recognized through a points based system that will be used to calculate Awards of Excellence honors.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Rae-Lee Erickson.
