Dear friends,

Fall on the farm means harvest time in the fields. Peppers, melons, and tomatoes slowly give way to later-season crops like cabbage, carrots, potatoes, leafy greens, leeks, and more. There is so much abundance right now, all reflecting the hard work of the crew throughout the summer.

It’s an exciting time to be a farmer, and we hope some of that excitement comes through when you open your CSA box these days. Enjoy!

How does the cabbage get to your table? Cabbage Toss, that’s how! Click the image above to watch a fun video of our (efficient!) crew.

Potato harvest love.

Cooler temperatures means leafy greens abound!

Mountain Bounty Farm suggested CSA Box recipes:

This Arugula and Fennel Salad with Basil Dressing (click here) uses so much of the fantastic produce you have in your box this week! It is crisp and spicy with the sweet fennel crunch. You could easily substitute spinach for the arugula!

Highlight your tomatoes this week with a Caprese Flatbread (click here). A fun twist on a classic caprese salad that is a little more filling and substantial but easier to throw together than pizza - give it a try!

This "no cream" Roasted Fennel and Potato Soup (click here) is welcome as the chilly nights come a little earlier each night! Cozy up with a bowl and a toasty piece of bread.

This Sesame Roasted Turnip Salad with Quinoa (Click here) is a simple and delicious way to use your turnips this week.

"Feed the Fam" Baby/Kid/Pet friendly recipes -Cheesy, crispy broccoli - who can say no!? Try this Crispy Parmesan Broccoli (click here) and watch it fly off the plate!

“USE IT UP” WEEKLY RECIPE!

Do you still have chard left in your fridge? Try out this simple Beans and Chard on Toast (click here) from last week's Cooking the Bounty video! It is a simple and nutritious lunch you can make again and again!
