Step 2 - Enrolling Active Females in Your Herd
  • Go through all pages of your listed females before clicking the Post Inventory button near the bottom of the last page.

Animal Searches
At times you may not know the Canadian Registration Number for a specific AI sire.  For example, if you only know the ASA Registration number , you can find the animal record by inputting the registration number by adding the prefix "US_"  at the beginning of the search criteria.
E.g.  Rather than entering 2675742, you would enter:  US_2675742 (see example below).
  Credit Card Users

Please ensure your credit card information is current in the office. If your card expires or you change numbers, please contact the office so we can continue to process all your work with no delays. Online.Simmental.com users are required to keep a credit card on file with the CSA.

BOLT Evaluation Update
Pre-production testing of the BOLT evaluation system began in July. The testing process involves CSA sending weekly data updates including genomic information and receiving genetic evaluations back on a weekly basis. The testing represents the next steps in adding additional breeds//breed information into the BOLT evaluation at IGS.
NEW - THE Compliance Report
THE Compliance reports are designed to help remind you in one easy to access report of animals in your herd that may be missing some data.
An example report is shown here...

The report shows only those females in the cow herd with missing data.  This means you do not have to sort through your entire group of cows to identify those that may have missed some key information.  In this example, ABC 123D does not have a calf reported.  We do not know if she lost the calf, never conceived or the calf just came on a busy day and was not reported.  THE Compliance reports provides an easy, one stop reminder to identify missing information and ensure that full reporting is done without having to sort through the entire cow herd.
Reports can be accessed/printed from the online system at any time.  Paper only clients should receive reporting in their fall packages, post-weaning.

A reminder to everyone exhibiting or selling Simmental cattle this fall, your animals must be registered with the CSA  and have a legible tattoo. It is the responsibility  of provincial associations and or sale mangers  to ensure that registrations and tattoos are checked.
