Week of October 4
From the PTA President...

It’s October! We pulled out the fall decorations this weekend and are gearing up for the last quarter of the year and all the holidays ahead. Did you know that Christmas is a mere 80 days away??

Good luck to all the 8th graders who will take the PSAT this Wednesday, and to all the parents who will have their 6th and 7th graders at home that day!

Don’t forget that next Monday, 10/12 is a holiday, and therefore the PTA newsletter will be sent out on Monday night instead of Sunday.

Also, if you have any friends who aren’t getting this newsletter, it’s because they have not joined the PTA. Please encourage them to log on and join!

We are moving ahead with planning the annual Birthday Bash and will adjust the event as necessary to follow all district guidelines. We are planning on having the event in late April on a Friday afternoon. More details will be announced as we get approval.

Want to volunteer at CSA but aren't sure what to do? The Birthday Bash committee has MANY different positions to fill. Complete the INTEREST FORM here!

Boo Bags for Teachers!

Thank you to everyone who adopted a CSA staff member this year.

It has been the CSA tradition to make a "Boo Bag" for each teacher and staff member during the month of October. We thought this could be part of our Adopt-a-Teacher initiative this year, so we would love for you to put together a Boo Bag for your “adoptee.” Send your goodie bag to school anytime during October, but no later than Friday, October 30.

What goes in a Boo Bag? Whatever you want! It can be based on the person's "Favorites Sheet" (which can be found on the PTA website), candy, or whatever works for you! It can be in a bag, a pumpkin, a box – the ideas are endless. (And it’s all on sale at Hobby Lobby!)

If you aren't able to do a Boo Bag for your person, that's okay! Just please let us know ASAP. We don't want any staff members to be left out.

Thanks so much!

Spring Branch Education Foundation (SBEF) believes in student success. As the nonprofit organization that partners with Spring Branch ISD, we fund programs that enrich education for students across the district. Led by a volunteer board of community leaders, we raise funds through donations and community events. Thanks to a generous community, we give scholarships to a growing number of seniors each year, and we award grants for mentoring programs, classroom libraries, technology and much more.

Our board and volunteers believe in quality, public education for EVERY child; and we believe strong schools build strong communities.

Organized in 1993, we now routinely donate more than $1 million each year to the district. You can help. Together, we are Making Our Schools Better.

We have several CSA parents who are involved in the SBEF leadership, and our SBEF PTA Liaison is Jeannie Greiner. You can contact her with questions at [email protected].
