Week of December 13
From the PTA President...

It’s ALMOST here! We are prepping for finals and projects due this week but, make no mistake, the 17 days of no morning alarms, no homework, and the option of wearing pj pants all day long is at the forefront of our minds! Our house is ready for the time off, and we are looking forward to some lazy days together. May whatever it is that you have planned this holiday season bring you joy, peace, and plenty of moments to treasure. As we reflect on all the ups and downs of 2020, I hope you are able to find reasons for celebration, opportunities for growth, and memories to savor.

I have said it many times, but I am truly thankful for our CSA community. Our teachers, administrative staff, and building personnel work tirelessly to make our school fantastic. We are thanking them tomorrow with our annual Staff Appreciation Holiday Luncheon - complete with gift cards, raffle prizes and a delicious meal. Thank to all the families who donated gift cards. It definitely takes a village to love on our teachers!

Don’t forget to use Amazon smile when you finish up that last minute Christmas shopping! And it’s not too late to contact Annette or Sa if you want to help with our Sister School needs.

Happy Holidays to all our families!
Nicole

The School Bell Award recognizes the outstanding SBISD staff members who promote the purposes of the PTA and are advocates for all children and is given by our Spring Branch ISD Council of PTAs. Read the purposes of the PTA below, think about a teacher or staff from CSA that you would like to nominate, and submit your nomination HERE. It is not necessary for a nominee to exemplify all of the purposes.

2020 winner - Laura Walpole
2019 winner - Julie Dougher

The PTA purposes are:
1. To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, and community.
2. To raise the standards of home life.
3. To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of youth.
4. To bring the school and home into closer relationship so that teacher and parents may work more cooperatively.
5. To develop united efforts between educators and the general public that help secure the highest advantages for youth in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

Please submit your nomination by January 5th.

Annette Willburn and Sa Nguyen graciously head up our Sister Schools committee and work diligently with AOC and DAEP to provide encouragement and meet a variety of needs. Each December, the CSA PTA adopts families that need extra help this time of year.
