ACADEMIC BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT
CSArts-SGV’s Academic Back-to-School Night is coming up on Thursday, September 7! Classroom presentations will be held from 6-7:55 p.m. in person on the CSArts-SGV campus. Click here for the Back-to-School Night flyer. Please have your student’s classroom schedule (with room numbers) handy so you know which classroom presentations to attend during each block. You can access their schedule via your Aeries parent portal home page.
Prior to classroom presentations, from 5-5:45 p.m., CSArts-SGV will host two optional parent information sessions:
-
Metro Safety Presentation (with the LA Metro and Los Angeles Sheriff Department) in the Cafeteria
-
Song for Charlie: Fentanyl Education for Parents in the Duarte Performing Arts Center (PAC)
Please note that, in order for faculty and staff members to prepare for Back-to-School Night, Thursday, September 7 is a no-conservatory schedule day, with school starting at 8:30 a.m. and concluding at 2:05 p.m.
During this event, all Highland Avenue Parking Lot spaces will be available. In addition, overflow parking will be available on Northview Field and on Central Avenue, east of Highland Avenue.

Please note that all Lost and Found items will be donated on the first and third Fridays of each month. The first donation will happen at the end of the day next Friday, September 1. We ask that you remind your students to regularly check the Lost and Found at the front desk for any missing items. Keep in mind that storage space is scarce, so items that are left for longer than two weeks are donated to local nonprofits.
Additionally, be sure to join the Facebook group CSArts-SGV Lost and Found in order to see all future updates and lost items that are posted.

Please be reminded that deliveries such as food, balloons, and flowers are not permitted during instructional hours or Lunch, as they cause unneeded disruptions. Any daytime deliveries will be stored and not available for students to pick up until after school is over for the day. For students who are remaining on campus for an after-school commitment, dinner may be dropped off in the CSArts-SGV front lobby at the end of conservatory classes.
AP Program Information
If you or your student are new to the Advanced Placement (AP) program, please watch our AP Exam Information presentation. This video covers the AP Program at CSArts-SGV and its implications for the college application process, along with need-to-know information regarding AP exam ordering and registration for the 2023-2024 school year.
For reference, the 2024 AP exams will be administered over a two-week period in May, Monday, May 6 – Friday, May 17. To view the full AP testing schedule, click here. All students currently in an AP class at CSArts-SGV are eligible to take the corresponding AP exam.
Purchasing an Exam
Students wishing to take one or more AP exams this year should pay for the exam(s) through their MySchoolBucks account. The exam fee, established by the College Board, for each test is $97. If your family qualifies for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program (FRLP), the fee is $64 per test. Students are encouraged to register and pay only for those exams they are committed to taking. When ordering exams, we highly encourage both student and parent to be present to ensure that the correct exams are ordered. Make sure to print and save your email payment receipt for your records, as students may need it for future reference or refunds. The deadline for purchasing AP exams is Wednesday, November 1, at 11:59 p.m.
