Thank you to everyone who participated in College Fair 2026 and made it a success! Our three days of College Booth Fairs attracted over 70 schools, including arts programs, liberal arts colleges, and community colleges. College & Career Night was also a blast! Students and parents/guardians learned about various career options, financial aid, and more. If you would like to share what stood out to you, what could be improved, or what you would like to see at College Fair next year, please fill out this Feedback Survey by next Friday, October 23. | | ATTENDANCE NOTIFICATION LETTERS | | |
Over the weekend, the Attendance Office will be sending out two different types of attendance notification letters:
-
Admin Truancy Notifications: These letters address unreported absences that require your attention. To view these letters, please ensure you are logged into your ParentSquare account. If you need to notify the Attendance Office about these absences, please email attendance@sgv.csarts.net.
-
2026 Attendance Letters: These letters outline your student’s absences as they reach various attendance tiers. For any questions or concerns regarding these letters, please email Assistant Principal of Facilities & Supervision Leon Metoyer at leon.metoyer@sgv.csarts.net.
Please note that you may receive one or both of these letters, which will come from different offices. It is important to direct your inquiries to the appropriate office. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
| | This November, we are excited to bring the conservatories together for four days of creativity, collaboration, and discovery! From Monday, November 16 – Thursday, November 19, CSArts-SGV will offer its first-ever Spark Week: Discover the Arts in the place of regular high school conservatory classes. Your art form may be what brought you to CSArts-SGV, but Spark Week is your chance to try something different! Please review our previous communication for more information. On Friday, October 30, students are welcome to wear Halloween costumes to school. We would like to share the following dos and don’ts, which can help students as they plan their costumes:
Do:
- Make sure your costume follows CSArts-SGV dress code and is school appropriate.
- Make sure that you are identifiable to staff as a CSArts-SGV student. If your costume includes a headpiece or mask that obscures your face, you must remove it upon entry and exit from the school and whenever asked by a staff member.
Don’t:
- Bring toy guns or weapons to school. If your costume includes a replica or foam sword or staff, that is acceptable; however, please be aware that staff or administration may ask to see it and may stow it in their office if it is determined to be potentially dangerous.
- Engage in cultural appropriation or wear a costume that makes fun of a specific religion, race, ethnicity, cultural group, or gender. True appreciation comes in the form of learning about other cultures, befriending different people, going to museums, researching, and listening to others’ stories. Dressing up for one day of the year is not an appropriate demonstration of appreciation. Please stick to make-believe costumes, such as superheroes, zombies, aliens, vampires, book characters, and all things imaginative or creative.

On Friday, November 20 at 4 p.m., students will present their work for family and friends in the Maxwell Academy Auditorium.
Parents/guardians who typically pick up their students from the CSArts-SGV campus following conservatory should pick up their students from the Maxwell Academy campus at the conclusion of class at 4:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday.
