October 6, 2023

We would like to acknowledge that this coming Monday, October 9 is Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Indigenous Peoples’ Day commemorates the invaluable contributions to society that indigenous people have made and honors their rich culture and history. This serves as a reminder of the importance of acknowledging and respecting the heritage and sovereignty of indigenous communities.

Monday will also be a student-free day at CSArts-SGV as academic teachers will be attending professional development. For our middle school families, Duarte Unified School District (DUSD) also has a student-free day. We hope you have a great long weekend, and we look forward to seeing you back in class on Tuesday, October 10!

State of the Art is updated biannually at the end of the fall and spring semester; however, you can submit your accomplishments and successes year-round here

All accomplishments will be posted at the conclusion of the semester in which they were submitted. An email will also be sent out once accomplishments for the semester are available for viewing. We can’t wait to see all the exciting things you have been up to! Past State of the Art accomplishments are always available to view at www.sgv.csarts.net/Accomplishments.

Parking Lots & Tickets

Please note that the Duarte Unified/City of Duarte parking lot off of Huntington Drive is not available for CSArts-SGV student parking. Students must have a valid student parking permit to park in CSArts-SGV’s Highland Avenue Parking Lot. There are still a limited number of student parking permits available if your student needs one. Students may apply here with their driver’s license. As a reminder, if you do not carry a student parking permit, you need to park on public streets, including Central Avenue, east of Highland Avenue.

If you find a “ticket” on your car, it is a courtesy notification that you lack the proper parking permit or you have parked in a reserved spot. While this notification is a courtesy, all violators are subject to being towed.

No School on Monday

As noted above, CSArts-SGV and Duarte Unified School District (DUSD) academies will be observing a non-student day on Monday, October 9. We look forward to seeing you back in class on Tuesday, October 10.
