We would like to acknowledge that this coming Monday, October 9 is Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Indigenous Peoples’ Day commemorates the invaluable contributions to society that indigenous people have made and honors their rich culture and history. This serves as a reminder of the importance of acknowledging and respecting the heritage and sovereignty of indigenous communities.
Monday will also be a student-free day at CSArts-SGV as academic teachers will be attending professional development. For our middle school families, Duarte Unified School District (DUSD) also has a student-free day. We hope you have a great long weekend, and we look forward to seeing you back in class on Tuesday, October 10!

SCHOOL SAFETY UPDATES & REMINDERS |
Parking Lots & Tickets
Please note that the Duarte Unified/City of Duarte parking lot off of Huntington Drive is not available for CSArts-SGV student parking. Students must have a valid student parking permit to park in CSArts-SGV’s Highland Avenue Parking Lot. There are still a limited number of student parking permits available if your student needs one. Students may apply here with their driver’s license. As a reminder, if you do not carry a student parking permit, you need to park on public streets, including Central Avenue, east of Highland Avenue.
If you find a “ticket” on your car, it is a courtesy notification that you lack the proper parking permit or you have parked in a reserved spot. While this notification is a courtesy, all violators are subject to being towed.
