TEXT-A-TIP & SECURITY LINES

CSArts-SGV utilizes a private reporting system, known as Text-A-Tip, for students, staff, and parents to communicate behavior that poses an immediate concern regarding the safety of students or the school. Please note that the Text-A-Tip number should be used to send text messages only and not to call for a conversation. Social conflicts between peers should be reported in person directly to a school counselor, not through this line. The CSArts-SGV Text-A-Tip number is 240.847.4483.

All messages sent to the Text-A-Tip line are received by the CSArts-SGV Administrative Team, reviewed, and evaluated for additional investigation. Individuals who report information on the Text-A-Tip line may be asked to provide additional details or speak directly with school officials or law enforcement based on the nature or severity of the claim.

The school also has a direct line to our Security Team, whose members are on campus every weekday from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. If there is an emergency occurring on campus and you need immediate assistance from Security, if you need access to a locked space, or if you have an after-hours rehearsal and need an escort to your car or to the train station, please utilize this line. The CSArts-SGV Security number is 626.205.4001.

SOCIAL MEDIA & OUR CORE PILLARS

As part of our ongoing effort to build positive school culture and be proactive in preventing patterns of undesirable behavior, we would like to take time to remind our school community that the CSArts-SGV inclusive and supportive culture extends to how we treat each other in digital spaces. We urge students to refrain from creating or participating in social media accounts promoting anonymous postings. These accounts are oftentimes referred to as “burn” or “tea” accounts. The purpose of these accounts is to share rumors or gossip about students or staff. Some accounts may start off as “crush” accounts where students can post about their desired relationships. These accounts and the use of fake or anonymous identities often result in posts that shame individual students and content that is hurtful and personal.

This behavior on social media is not representative of CSArts-SGV’s core cultural pillars, as our campus culture has always been based on inclusion and mutual respect. The use of social media, both on personal accounts and anonymous accounts, to threaten, bully, harass, and/or disrupt school activities is a violation of California Education Code and is subject to assertive discipline procedures.

To our students: We ask that each of you, as members of our CSArts-SGV community, make a commitment to contributing to a positive, nurturing, and accepting environment for all of your peers, whether online or in person.

SEEKING COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

CSArts-SGV is grateful to have the continued support of the Maxwell H. Gluck Foundation through the Gluck Community Service Arts Fellowship Program. Over the past four years, this funding has provided our students with the opportunity to bring free arts activities to those who have little-to-no access and to become more active and engaged members of the San Gabriel Valley community.

As we begin another year of this influential program, we need your help identifying community organizations that serve children, seniors, or other groups who could benefit from free arts enrichment programs brought to them by CSArts-SGV students and teachers. All referrals within the San Gabriel Valley are welcome and appreciated. Please send your recommendations and contacts to our Outreach Coordinator, Simon Harrison, at [email protected].

SUPERVISION ASSISTANTS NEEDED

We are now hiring part-time Student Supervision Assistants to help us in providing meaningful perimeter, lunch area, and campus activity supervision. If you (or someone you know) would be a good fit for this position, please review the job description on EDJOIN and email the requested materials to [email protected].

HEALTH & SAFETY REMINDERS

Please take the time to review our COVID-19 Information page for the most current COVID-19 policies and procedures. On this page, you can also access the COVID-19 Reporting Form in order to report a positive test, symptoms, or exposure.

Free COVID-19 rapid antigen tests are available through Heluna Health to CSArts-SGV students and staff who have symptoms that correlate with active COVID-19 or who have had a known close contact with a COVID-19 positive individual. Tests will be administered in the Health Office by one of our school nurses, and results will be recorded in Primary Health, a secure online database. All students and staff should register for Primary Health using this link. Advanced notice of the need for COVID-19 testing is appreciated and can be requested by contacting the Health Office at 657.321.4000 ext. 60401 or [email protected].
