Dear CSD Members,
We’ve learned that Congress is strongly considering voting on a bill that helps skin disease patients get more immediate access to the treatment their doctor recommends rather than first being forced to suffer through their health insurance company’s preferred (cheaper) prescription. This bill has been one of the CSD's top legislative priorities for years!
Passing this bill – called the Safe Step Act - is one of the CSD's top legislative priorities. This bipartisan legislation (H.R. 2630/ S. 652) would be life-changing for tens of thousands of skin disease patients.
This is the best chance we’ve ever had! And we have to act quickly.
We are launching a new campaign to make clear to Congress that patients have waited long enough – it’s time to pass this bill.
We need your help, and we promise that it’s easy to do:
1. Take a picture of yourself standing on a step. Any step will do.
2. Use our sample pre-written social media post (you can edit it) and post your picture to social media. It's important to tag the Senators and Members of Congress in the example to ensure they see your message!
Please see this document for examples of Facebook, Instagram, and X posts you can make, as well as placards you can print and hold for your picture if you'd like. (Printing a placard is totally optional.)
Your steps can be anywhere - at home, in your office, inside or outside. The location doesn’t matter. What does matter is getting your picture posted so we can pressure Congress to pass this important legislation.
