Dear CSD Members,
In preparation for the CSD Hill Day 2025, we ask you to identify a patient advocate within your organization's membership who is willing to share their personal story.
Once identified, please have your advocate provide a written one-page document about how their skin disease impacts them and how certain legislation can lessen the burden of their disease. (Please see the CSD's 2025 legislative priorities here.)
These one-page documents will be featured on the CSD website and used by participants of the CSD Hill Day as examples on how to write their own story.
While numbers, stats, and charts are all an important part of the policy process, nothing gets to the heart of why like a patient advocate's personal story. Legislators and staff won't remember the graphs shared in a meeting, but they will remember patient advocates' deeply personal stories and the ways that legislation affects their lives and their disease.
Please see the following examples on the CSD website for reference:
We ask that each personal story be no longer than one-page (double-sided) and that a photo(s) be included if possible. All patients submitting a personal story must complete this consent form.
Please submit your organization's personal story (and consent forms) to Natalie Mamerow, CSD Communications Manager, by March 15, and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.
