Last month, Eddie, Kristin and I had the pleasure to have lunch with Ginny Larson, former Charlottesville resident, CSDS dancer and Board member, who now lives in Boston! It was so great to catch up with Ginny, who is still a CSDS member! She says hello to everyone!

PA dancer Alyssa Arter returns to be CSDS' guest instructor/DJ for our Saturday, April 20th dance! She'll teach the pre-dance lesson in Blues (a cousin of West Coast Swing!) and then be our DJ for the evening. Alyssa has been dancing since the age of 4 and began teaching at age 13; she teaches Lindy Hop, Charleston, East Coast Swing, Balboa, West Coast Swing and of course, Blues!
SCHEDULE:
7:00 - 8:00 pm: Lesson (inc. in admission)
8:00 - 11:00 pm: Dance
ADMISSION:
- $10 CSDS Members
- $13 Non-Members
- $5 Students (FT w/ID) & First-Time Attendees
- $5 for CSDS Members with April Birthdays :-)
- Children Under 16 are Free (no childcare services)
FOOTWEAR: please wear either dance shoes or light-colored soles; whatever you wear must be non-marking!
PARKING & INCLEMENT WEATHER:
As parking is limited, we encourage you to carpool to our dance. In the event of inclement weather, we will post any schedule updates/changes on our public FB page (you don't have to have an account), by 1 pm.

March Dance Recap
CSDS is pleased to present our 2019-2010 Board of Directors, elected at our Annual Membership Meeting held at the March dance: Kyla Miller, Rob Tran, Gaia Read, Kristin Wenger, Ed Guida, Jim Naffin, Katie Bigelow, Adela Su and Bonnie Strickler (not pictured). Officers will be elected at their first meeting this month. Thank you in advance for your service to CSDS and the Charlottesville dance community!
Thank you to Erica Smith for being our guest instructor/DJ at our March dance! We loved the lesson, your JT Swing Team DC routine performance, featuring three Charlottesville dancers, Barbara Frost, Maria Ferrera and Alaina Sewell, and the fabulous dance music! Thank you too, to Kristin Wenger, for hosting our out of town guests.

Kristin's Group Classes! (no class April 2nd)
 Kristin Wenger's next session of Tuesday night group classes, through our community partner, the County of Albemarle Parks & Rec Dept., begins April 23rd! Nightclub 2-Step Level 2 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm, and Learn A Routine (should know basic West Coast Swing) from 7:30 - 9:00 pm! Classes are held at the Murray High School gym, the same location as CSDS' Swing Swap on Thursday nights. Please register for Kristin's classes online as she cannot take payments in class! Any questions, ask Kristin! #gettoclass

Adela is often the Table/Group Dinner Organizer for events attended by Charlottesville Westies ~ if you're planning to go to any of these or other events, let her know! And reserve your hotel room ASAP as the event hotels usually sell out well in advance; you can always cancel it later. Don't wait until you decide to go to book your room; it will be too late!
Gaia Read often organizes roadtrips from Charlottesville for the DC/MD/NoVA dances/events; contact her if you're interested in carpooling sometime.
