Our good buddy Scott Brandt is pleased to announce his newly formed
Swing Step (WCS and Country 2-Step) and his affiliation with
Rigby's Jig in Richmond; they are hosting a monthly
4th Saturday Dance on Saturday, November 23rd. We look forward to supporting Scott and his desire to promote and grow West Coast Swing in Richmond!

DCSX is the next regional weekend dance event, November 14th-17th, in NoVA. Many C-ville/CSDS Westies will be attending with our own Alyssa Gillespie on staff! If you've never attended a weekend dance event, this would be a great first event. Up to 4 days of non-stop dancing in the form of workshops, intensives, performances, competition and of course, tons of social dancing. You'll learn from the top touring professionals and meet/dance with hundreds of other dancers from all over. Interested in purchasing dance shoes? Several dance shoe vendors will be on site with loads of shoes available for you to try on!
Halloween Dance Recap
Thanks to all who attended our October Halloween Dance! Our costume contest judges had a difficult time selecting the winners! Check out the costume contest winners and all who dressed up!
Would you enjoy free admission to a CSDS dance? CSDS is a non-profit organization and is 100% run by volunteers. It "takes a village" to host a dance. Volunteer Coordinator
Kristin Wenger is collecting names of CSDS members who would be willing to help out from time to time in exchange for free admission. We need helpers to set up, sit at the registration desk, clean up, or help with the snack table.
Let her know if you are interested. NO OBLIGATION REQUIRED. Thank you!
Know of a dance event not mentioned above? Let us know so we can list it and help spread the word!
Adela is often the Table/Group Dinner Organizer for events attended by Charlottesville Westies ~ if you're planning to go to any of these or other events, let her know! And reserve your hotel room ASAP as the event hotels usually sell out well in advance; you can always cancel it later. Don't wait until you decide to go to book your room; it will be too late!
Gaia Read often organizes roadtrips from Charlottesville for the DC/MD/NoVA dances/events; contact her if you're interested in carpooling sometime.
