Negotiations Update: Today’s negotiations were held to continue discussions regarding the articles presented in the Bargaining Proposal.
 
Calendar: The Negotiations Team and the District came to an agreement on an MOU to add an additional Personal Development Day so that 180-day calendar employees will now have 181 calendar days for the next two years.
 
Holiday: The Negotiations Team once again brought up pay for the Juneteenth Holiday and the addition of Juneteenth to the Holiday Schedule. The District said they are waiting for the state legislature to declare Juneteenth a holiday.
 
Wages and Compensation: The Negotiations Team and the District continued discussions regarding increasing the Night Differential. The District will present a proposal to Dr. Johnson and continue negotiations with us at our next meeting. The Negotiations Team and the District discussed the California minimum wage increase to ensure District compliance with this law.
 
Covid Funding: Funds provided by the State of California to school district to cover additional expenses due to the Covid pandemic have ended. As a result, the District intends to layoffs individuals who were exclusively hired with those funds. The Negotiations Team is waiting on specifics about what positions will be affected. 
 
PARS: The Negotiations Team brought up the members interest in being able to remove themselves from the PARS program. The Negotiations Team and the District are continuing to work on an agreement.
 
Reclassification: The Negotiations Team and the District agreed to begin a classification study for the reclassification of Paraeducators and Nutrition Services personnel.
 
 
Next Negotiations Date: Negotiations will be held on Thursday, March 3rd.
