District Wide Surveys and SPR Updates
The District Wide Survey remains an important source of feedback from students, parents, teachers, school staff, and principals and we continue to encourage participation while being sensitive to competing priorities people may have during this time. In an effort to encourage survey completion during school closure, the following changes were made to this year's plans:
  • The administration window has been extended through Friday, June 5, 2020.
  • Parent/Guardian paper surveys will be accepted until Friday, July 10, 2020 but we are unable to distribute any additional paper copies.
  • We have added new survey language to clarify that respondents should think about the entire year when answering questions. For questions about school buildings and in-school experiences, we advise respondents to answer as best as they can thinking about their experiences before schools closed in mid-March.

The response rate tracker will continue to be updated every day. High response rates are always important for the applicability of results for purposes of both informed decision-making and accountability.
SY 2019-20 results will be published on the District Wide Survey website, School Profiles, and Open Data. Decisions have not been made yet on what will be included on the SY 2019-2020 SPR given the current COVID-19 school closures and the unknown duration of these closures. As information becomes available, the CSO will be sure to share it with you.
SY 2020-21 Calendar of Collections
CEOs received an email last week regarding next year’s Calendar of Collections . By the end of May, schools can expect that all requirements due through Thursday, October 1, 2020 will be scheduled into Epicenter. The CSO plans to provide schools feedback on a rolling basis for any policies submitted early so that schools can make immediate changes to come into compliance.

Calendar Updates via Infinite Campus
Please make sure that each calendar for your school for SY 2019-20 is updated correctly for the period from the start of the school year until March 13, 2020 . Schools are not expected to update their calendar post March 13th (i.e. schools should not be updating their calendars during school closure).
SY 2020-21 Calendar Submission  
Please complete the SY 2020-2021 Calendar Submission Survey by Friday, May 15, 2020 . The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. Please note, schools have the ability to update their calendars at any point. Submitting your calendar via the linked survey simply allows for Information Systems (IS) to begin building out calendars in the system, and for IS users to gain early access to make necessary changes. It is critically important that schools are very deliberate with selecting the grades that should be included in a calendar. Once grades are chosen, every grade within that calendar must actually run on that calendar.

  • Statements of Financial Interest -- Calendar Year 2019. As an alternative to the paper form, SOFIs can be filled out online here.

Charter Providers Serving Meals
The CSO wants to express our gratitude and thank all of the charter schools, listed below, who have provided and/or continue to provide fresh meals to students. These providers have worked tirelessly and at times, under unfavorable weather conditions to ensure that students have enough meals to eat throughout the day. Many have also committed to providing meals beyond the end of the school year, for as long as meal distribution is needed. We join the City of Philadelphia and thank you all for your amazing work!

Additionally, the City has confirmed that providers will continue to distribute food throughout summer. For more information on meal distribution, providers, and sites, visit the City’s page here .

Student Board Member Application

The Board of Education is looking for two students to serve as Student Board Representatives. Students who serve in this role represent their peers by communicating student opinions to the School Board, and reporting Board deliberations and actions to the student body. The application is open to 11th and 12th grade students from ALL Philadelphia public schools who wish to serve in this advisory role.
