August 1, 2022

Greetings Sector Leaders,

Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! The CSO looks forward to strengthening partnerships with the charter sector as we all transition from much-needed summer breaks and prepare for the excitement a new school year brings. This month’s newsletter includes a number of updates related to school opening logistics, resources for staff, and upcoming opportunities to engage with the CSO and other District partners.

Keeping engagement in mind, we shared in a recent Charter Sector Update that Dr. Watlington would like to connect with charter leaders in August as part of his first 100 days Listening and Learning tour. The Superintendent’s Office has circulated invitations for this event to charter CEOs and Board Chairs, and a registration link can be accessed here. We hope as many sector leaders as possible are able to attend and share feedback directly with Dr. Watlington.

As we all begin the new school year, I am excited to share some updates about the CSO team. We have welcomed Evangeline Berube, Eric Turner, and April Witherspoon to our team, and I invite you to read more about our team members here.

As always, if you have any questions or feel like there is an opportunity for the CSO to be helpful, please do not hesitate to reach out directly. We thank you for your partnership, engagement, and feedback.

With thanks,

Peng Chao

Acting Chief, Charter Schools

To support schools to understand compliance requirements, the CSO has set up Office Hours for Organizational Compliance and Viability categories. To meet with a CSO member, please use the following Calendly links:

SY 2022-23 User Verification Sheets

Charter school leaders and operations contacts should continue to verify SY 2022-23 school-specific users for SDP systems including Infinite Campus, Compass, and Payments to ensure no delays or disruptions  related to student data or District operations services.

Questions about the user verification process, including requests for links to school-specific and network-specific user information, can be directed to [email protected].

Updating Staff in School Information Sheets

All schools are encouraged to review their individual school sheet that shares key staff contact information. School sheets support the CSO by ensuring critical information is shared with appropriate personnel in a timely manner. If you are in need of the link to your school sheet, please reach out to [email protected].
