Data Sharing MOUs
On September 9th, updated data sharing Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) were shared with 51 schools. These MOUs allow the CSO and District Performance Office (DPO) to engage the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and others to access various student level academic performance data from charter schools for reporting purposes. We would like to execute these agreements as soon as possible.

Signed MOUs can be scanned and sent to Sarah at sgearhart@philasd.org. You can also contact Sarah with any questions you may have about the process.

Transportation Attending Screen in IC
If a student(s) is attending school at another location (e.g. non-grade specific annex, Approved Private School [APS], or another school) your school will need to have the Transportation Attending School screen in Infinite Campus (IC) updated to reflect this. This will allow transportation to properly set up service and properly update the Track field with the days the student is attending that school. Failure to do so will result in the system displaying the student as though they are attending the home school (enrolled school), and will not be properly reflected on the Attending School's student list in Compass. This is an annual process to ensure the proper information is in Compass for the Office of Transportation to set up service for your students.
2019-20 School Progress Report Update
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and associated school closures, multiple state and local assessments were cancelled during SY 2019-20. As a result, the School District of Philadelphia (SDP) is not able to release a scored School Progress Report (SPR) for SY 2019-20. Instead, the District will release an unscored end-of-year summary report for each school to share information on the metrics that are available for SY 2019-20. This report will be released in January 2021, with a subset of metrics for District schools to be released in October 2020. Please visit philasd.org/spr, which links to the list of metrics that will be included in the end-of year summary, by domain. Please note that the CSO still intends on publishing Annual Charter Evaluations (ACEs).
Obtaining Student Records
As a reminder, should a charter school need to obtain student records from a District public school, charters should first reach out directly to that school.

After several unsuccessful attempts, the charter school should then send a request for records to the Office of Records Management at recordsmanagement@philasd.org.
Grade 12 Calendars in IC
To better support schools with end-dating and graduating students, all schools that serve 12th grade students have separate calendars in Infinite Campus (IC) for SY 2020-21. These calendars are labeled with ‘12’ at the end of the calendar name. Questions regarding your calendar and/or end-dating students should be directed to helpdesk@philasd.org.
Technology Access and PHLConnectED
The CSO is no longer collecting technology access spreadsheets. The deadline to submit sheets was August 28th. Schools are still expected to insert and maintain student level technology needs in the PHLConnectED tab in Infinite Campus (IC).

Linked here is a stepper with instructions on how to use the PHLConnectED Tab. The CSO is monitoring the number of hotspots and codes assigned to students in IC. Once the number of assigned hotspots/codes approaches the number of allocated hotspots/codes, the CSO will automatically send your school more codes or arrange for more hotspots to be picked up.
Charter Policies
The Board of Education (Board) is reviewing and updating charter policies as shared with the sector in November 2019. The Policy Committee met on September 10, 2020 and is considering the policy updates, 400 Charter School Monitoring Structures and 401 Charter School Authorizing Functions, as well as the elimination of Policy 141 Renaissance Schools Initiative. Please note that the elimination of Policy 141 does not impact the operations of current renaissance charter schools.
See the CSO presentation or the recording of the Policy Committee Meeting for an overview of the existing policies and proposed updates. To provide feedback on policies, please complete this form that is located on the Board’s website.

Charter Meal Providers

We want to once again thank all the charter meal providers who distributed over a million meals to children throughout the summer. Despite the health and safety concerns due to COVID-19, volunteers remained committed to ensuring that every child in Philadelphia had access to a meal.
