Consider a GIVING TUESDAY gift to Crisis Support Services of Alameda County
Support School-Based Suicide Prevention!

Giving Tuesday is coming soon but you don't have to wait until November 29th to donate! We are starting our campaign TODAY! Crisis Support Services of Alameda County provides mental health and suicide prevention education to over 10,000 students a year through our school-based Teens For Life program. Here are a few educators and school counselors, sharing the impact of the program in their own words.

"CSS services have supported our students by providing valuable, informative, and sensitive class presentations on suicide prevention and mental health awareness.

Those services have helped our students be more knowledgeable about mental health issues facing youth today, and have contributed to a decrease in mental health stigmas on campus."

- Kacy Haley, School Counselor at East Avenue Middle School, in Livermore
"CSS has supported our students here at MSJHS by educating them about depression and suicide in a safe and supportive environment decreasing the stigmas associated with mental illness. Over the years, we have had many overly stressed who develop anxiety and depression due to pressures. The education that CSS provides teaches students how to deal with their feelings and how to be aware of the signs associated with depression and suicide where they can help themselves or a friend in need."

"The students are more accepting and aware of what is going on within themselves as well as their peers. They understand the importance of empathy without judgement and have increased the awareness of the stigmas associated with mental illness. More students have been coming in to talk about how they are feeling and are more comfortable reaching out to get a peer help! CSS saves lives."

Cate Ruebling, Department Chair, Health Department at Mission San Jose High School in Fremont
