Eric Piza, Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice and Director of Crime Analysis Initiatives, has been named the new Lipman Family Chair in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice.

The Race and Private Law Section of the Association of American Law Schools has named an annual award for Patricia Williams, University Distinguished Professor of Law and Humanities. The Patricia J. Williams Award celebrates Williams’ role as a leading critical race theorist and feminist legal theorist. 

Beth Noveck, Professor and Director, Burnes Center for Social Change, has been honored as part of the "Government AI 100" by Apolitical for her work to use AI to enhance participatory democracy.

The Digital Archive for Indigenous Language Persistence, led by Ellen Cushman, Dean's Professor of Civic Sustainability and Professor of English, has received a grant from National Historical Publications and Records Commission—the grant-making affiliate of the National Archives and Records Administration—to create a digital edited collection of annotated Cherokee manuscripts, titled The Willie Jumper Stories

Cassie McMillan, Assistant Professor of Sociology and Criminology & Criminal Justice, has co-authored "Strong ties, strong homophily? Variation in homophily on sociodemographic characteristics by relationship strength" in Social Forces.

Kabria Baumgartner, Dean’s Associate Professor of History and Africana Studies, has written the article, "Even More Is Required: Confronting the Teacher Pay Crisis in the United States," published in the History of Education Quarterly.
