RECOGNITION AND PUBLICATIONS

Laura Kuhl, Assistant Professor of Public Policy and Urban Affairs and International Affairs, has co-published "Locally Led Adaptation: Promise, Pitfalls, and Possibilities" in the journal Ambio.


Professor Kuhl has also co-published "Opportunities for Nature-based Solutions to Contribute to Climate-resilient Development Pathways" with Public Policy PhD student Johan Arango-Quiroga and PhD candidate Alaina Kinol in Current Opinion in Environmental Sustainability.

Margaret Burnham, University Distinguished Professor of Law and Affiliate Professor of Africana Studies, will be honored by the Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities as a recipient of the 2023 Governor’s Awards in the Humanities. Professor Burnham will be honored for her dedication to exploring history, illuminating truth and confronting injustice in order to protect civil and human rights locally, nationally and internationally.

The international quarterly Written Communication is now hosted at the University of Maine and Northeastern University. Mya Poe, Associate Professor of English, and Dylan Dryer, University of Maine, will serve as the new editors and publish their first issue online and in print next month. Written Communication encompasses a wide range of topics, theoretical frameworks, and rigorous methodologies, and under the editorship of Professors Poe and Dryer, the journal will remain focused on multi-disciplinary, international perspectives on writing research.
