This panel, part of the Center for International Affairs and World Cultures Global Crisis Series, will examine these dynamics through case studies from Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Taiwan. Weirding AI: Fine-Tuning for Poets & Artists

Artist & technologist Halim Madi invites attendees to fine-tune a language model using poems, rants and texts to create an AI poetic persona. Participants will get a crash course in dataset curation, model fine-tuning, and interface design. No prior coding experience is needed—just a willingness to experiment and a body of text to start with.

Sevillano will be delivering his lecture titled "Knows-to-Tale: Culinary Epistemologies and Filipino-American Gastropoetics."

Qianqian Zhang-Wu, Assistant Professor of English and Coordinator of Multilingual Writing, has published "Exploring multilingual writer agency through autoethnography: bargaining, resistance and translingual reality" in the International Journal of Multilingualism.

Phil Brown, University Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Health Sciences and Director of Social Science Environmental Health Research Institute, has co-published "A personalized tutorial to improve understanding of individual chemical results and opportunities for reducing exposure" in the Journal of Exposure Science & Environmental Epidemiology.
