How can we engage with the history of activism and make connections to a more just future? In this workshop, designed and led by Lani Asunción and Joanna Tam, Reckonings’ Hidden Histories artists-in-residence, attendees will activate the language found in the printed materials published and used by grassroots organizations in Boston Chinatown, currently housed at the Northeastern University Archives and Special Collections.  The gathering is part of the Reckonings Community Network Series.


Linda Blum, Professor of Sociology, has published "Feminist Solidarity or Moralized Body Politics? Online Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Communities and Feminist Health Politics" in Gender and Society.

Serena Alexander, Associate Professor of Public Policy and Environmental Engineering, and other scholars, have published "Socio-Economic Risk of Rising Compound Precipitation-Wind Extremes in San Francisco Bay Area" in the International Journal of Climatology. Professor Alexander has also published "Machine learning-guided field site selection for river classification" in the International Journal of Applied Earth Observation and Geoinformation.

Call for Proposals from Faculty and Staff: Love Data Week 2026


Northeastern’s Data Literacy Program invites all faculty and staff to share their expertise and passion with the Northeastern community through engaging presentations and hands-on sessions. Love Data Week 2026 (February 9-13, 2026) is seeking proposals for presentations, workshops, or training sessions on any data-related topic that will educate and inspire the Northeastern community. Diverse formats are encouraged, including presentations, interactive demonstrations, case studies, hands-on trainings, panel discussions, or storytelling sessions. Faculty and staff interested in learning more can visit Love Data Week 2026s website; proposals are due by October 15.
