Q&A: Mr. Bonham goes to Washington

Walter Bonham, a rising urban farmer, consultant, and founding member of the Richland Gro-Op cooperative in Mansfield, Ohio, recently attended the 2024 Council for Agricultural Research, Extension and Teaching (CARET)/Board on Agriculture Assembly (BAA) Joint Washington Conference, Feb. 26-29. He traveled in the company of Dr. Morakinyo A.O. Kuti, CSU's vice president for Research and Economic Development and director of the 1890 Land-Grant Programs; and Dr. Cindy (Alcinda) Folck, program leader of Agriculture and Natural Resources and interim associate Extension administrator. Dr. Yu-Lu Hsiung

Yu-Lu Hsiung, Ph.D., is the new Extension Data Specialist, starting March 1. She has a background in educational data analysis, reporting, and research.



Previously, she worked in a public school district as a research manager and has decided to transition into the world of Extension education at CSU. Her duties mainly will consist of data collection, management, analysis, and reporting not only for federal accountability purposes but also to inform CSU Extension stakeholders.

Lisa Lawrence

Lisa Lawrence is a new Extension educator, Northwest Ohio region, starting March 1.

In her new position, Lawrence's roles will include meeting with stakeholders, community agencies, and leaders to discuss collaboration with CSU Extension to bring educational resources to impact northwest Ohio residents and communities through community and economic development.


She worked over 20 years in the corporate arena and has transitioned into the nonprofit world. She has years of experience building relationships and advocating for under-resourced, underserved populations within her community.
