2024 UNDERGRADUATE INTERNSHIP AND RESEARCH REVIEW PRESENTATIONS

In Photo 2: Dr. Jose Toledo, Vice President of Research and Economic Development and Director of 1890 Land-Grant Programs, tells the undergraduate students that he is impressed with their mastery of the research process and with their research findings, demonstrated in their presentations.

In Photo 3: Participants received certificates.


Sixteen students participated in the 2024 "Undergraduate Internship and Research Review" presentations on their summer work.


The participating students were Laverne Ambrister, excercise science junior; Joel Barhorst, sustainable agriculture senior; Keiana Briscoe, biology senior; Danao Davis, environmental engineering junior; Ranicia Ferguson, psychology and criminal justice senior; Pleas Halsell, water resources management junior; Royalty Hightower, sustainable agriculture sophomore; Ishe Mawasha, environmental engineering junior; Zephon McAndrew, environmental engineering sophomore; Abigail Penn, psychology/biology sophomore; Meyah Pillow, sustainable agriculture junior; Shawn Saturday, sustainable agriculture sophomore; Kellsie Schrack, water resources management senior; Heaven Strachan, sustainable agriculture sophomore; Bryant Willis, environmental engineering junior; and Jahiem Wilson, computer science senior.


"The purpose of the Internship/Research Review Day is to enable students to demonstrate the experience and knowledge (they) gained) through research and job training internships sponsored by public and private entities," said Gorgui Ndao, director of Student Success and Experiential Learning.

'It Takes a Village' at the Second Annual Diabetes Awareness Day

Central State University Extension's second annual "It Takes A Village: Diabetes Awareness Day" was held Saturday, Nov. 2, at Central State University-Dayton with what program organizers considered an impressive attendance. The day ended with a rousing line dance by attendees, joined by Dr. Jose Toledo, Vice President for Research and Economic Development and Director of 1890 Land-Grant Programs. Read more.

B. Cato Mayberry, project director of Central State University's Workforce Training and Business Development Center at the Dayton campus, welcomed his assistant, Omotayo Obayanju, on his first day, Nov. 1. The Center, located at 840 Germantown St., Dayton, is currently seeking both instructors and students for a variety of certificate and non-certificate courses.
