Duo Phone Call Verification Ending on Dec. 18

On behalf of the Division of IT

On Wednesday, December 18, the option to receive a phone call for Duo two-factor authentication will no longer be available. Please register your new authentication method before December 18 to maintain uninterrupted access to Duo-protected systems like email, Banner, and more.

Required Action:

If you currently use phone calls for Duo authentication, please choose your new method before December 18:

Options for authentication:

Option A: Download and set up the Duo Mobile App on your smartphone

Option B: Use a USB Security Key. Limited quantities of Yubikeys and Feitian keys are available for purchase at the Pueblo bookstore or through Kuali shop catalogs. You can also purchase Yubikey, Feitian, or other brands of security keys online.

Option C: A smartphone can also be used as a Security Key and does not require downloading an application.

Why this change?

Phone call authentication is responsible for the bulk of Duo account compromises.

Removing this option improves overall security by promoting more secure authentication methods.

Need assistance? Submit a help request to the Division of IT Help Desk. We understand this change may cause temporary inconvenience, and we appreciate your cooperation in enhancing our security measures.

Required Clery Act Training: Campus Security Authority (CSA)

On behalf of the Office of Campus Safety and Emergency Management

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, or the Clery Act, our school is required to disclose statistics concerning the number of specific crimes that occurred within Clery-specific geography that are reported to local police agencies or to a campus security authority.

In addition to those who work in campus safety, those who are responsible for security and monitoring access to our buildings, and those who are designated within our campus security policies to receive crime reports, the law also defines a β€œcampus security authority” as: β€œan official of an institution who has significant responsibility for student and campus activities, including, but not limited to, student housing, student discipline, and campus judicial proceedings.”

Β· Are you a member of the Campus Law Enforcement or Safety Office?

Β· Are you responsible for safety but not a member of the campus law enforcement or Safety Office?

Β· Are you someone who is mentioned in policy that crimes should be reported to?

Β· Is it part of your job to build relationships with students?

Β· Do you volunteer or have a job function outside of the classroom that causes you to interact with students?

If you received this training bulletin, you must attend this training once a year. If you have questions call the Clery Manager or Campus Safety Director at 2373.
