❄️NEW YEAR; NEW 'TUDE πŸš€

If you're still writing 2024 consider how special the year is, mathematically speaking. There is a high probability that this will be the only perfect square year most of us will experience (square of 45). The next one 2116 (square of 46) and the last one was 1936 (44 squared). β˜•β„οΈ

Let's get to it.

5 Reasons We Remember MLK

When Coretta Scott King envisioned the holiday honoring her husband, she saw it as more than just a day off from work or school. She called for "a day of reflection, a day of teaching nonviolent philosophy and strategy, a day of getting involved in nonviolent action for social and economic progress." At CSU Pueblo, we're answering that call with a week of events designed to engage, educate, and inspire our community to carry Dr. King's dream forward.

Microsoft 365 Reducing Storage Limits

On behalf of CSU System IT

Microsoft is reducing the storage allocation available for Microsoft 365 (M365) services across the Colorado State University System. The change, which applies to storage used by applications and user accounts, prompted a response plan developed by a committee of professionals from across CSU to ensure uninterrupted access and support for storage needs.

Key Changes to Storage Quotas

  • New Email Accounts: Starting this month, new Exchange mailboxes will have a quota of 5 GB. Currently, 94% of existing mailboxes use less than this.
  • Existing Mailboxes: All existing mailboxes will receive a new quota that is 5 GB above their current usage, ensuring no accounts will be cut.
  • OneDrive Quotas: New instances will have a 5 GB quota and existing OneDrive accounts will have a new quota that is 5 GB above their current usage.

Actions for Faculty, Staff, and Students

Impact on Research and Collaborative Tools

The university acknowledges the unique storage needs of researchers and collaborative teams. Usage of Teams and SharePoint will be closely monitored to minimize potential disruptions. Departments needing additional storage can submit requests through CSU’s web tools, and researchers with high storage demands are encouraged to contact IT for tailored solutions.

No Service Interruptions

The Division of IT assures the CSU community that the transition will not result in service downtime. Over the coming months, IT will provide resources, including tips and strategies, to help users manage storage effectively.
