Black Student Athlete Alliance

Black Student Athlete Alliance

By Monet Jenkins

Biology major and short-distance track runner Daryana Hall is the founder of the Black Student Athlete Alliance (BSAA), a new campus organization at California State University, Long Beach that supports Black student-athletes. Inspired by the Black Athlete Summit she observed at other universities, Daryana envisioned a similar space for her peers, one where Black student-athletes could be seen, celebrated, and heard.

That vision became reality through a program housed within the Athletics Department. Today, BSAA is dedicated to advocacy, visibility, and community building, creating a powerful platform for connection and empowerment.
