CSU partners with Riverside County to launch first-ever direct admission pilot

Exciting news for Riverside County high school seniors!

The CSU has partnered with the Riverside County Office of Education to offer the first-ever direct admission pilot for the CSU system. Eligible students at every public high school in Riverside County will be offered direct admission to the CSU, including Cal State San Bernardino, for the fall 2025 term, before they even apply.

CSUSB Department of Nursing celebrates 50 years at Palm Desert and San Bernardino campuses

CSUSB students, faculty, staff and alumni gathered at both the Palm Desert and San Bernardino campuses for two special ceremonies celebrating the Cal State San Bernardino Department of Nursing’s 50th anniversary.

Attendees reflected on the program’s many milestones over the past 50 years and special recognition awards were presented to former department chairs, honoring their leadership and dedication.

Nursing Pinning Ceremonies

The CSUSB College of Natural Sciences’ Department of Nursing held special nursing pinning ceremonies at both the Palm Desert and San Bernardino campuses to honor and recognize its graduating nursing students.

These pinning ceremonies mark not just the end of their academic journey, but the beginning of a fulfilling career in healthcare.

PDC Student ShowCASE

The 2024 Student ShowCASE at PDC was a huge success with more than 100 attendees!

25 students from various disciplines presented their creative activities, scholarly works and research to faculty jurors who rated their posters.

The event was sponsored by the PDC Scholarly Research and Creative Activities Committee, whose goal is to foster scholarly research and creative activities for faculty and students at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus.

Careers in Nursing Parent & Student Night

We would like to thank the parents and students who joined us for the CSUSB Careers in Nursing Parent & Student Night at PDC.

The event served as a great opportunity for attendees to learn more about our nursing program and available career paths, meet faculty, tour our Palm Desert Health Sciences Building, understand transfer requirements and discover the resources available to support students throughout their academic journey at CSUSB.

Business and Marketing Open House

The hospitality management program and the CSUSB Marketing Department welcomed 150 high school students and teachers from all three local school districts to the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus for an open house/college preview event.

A number of CSUSB speakers, including faculty, admissions staff, and student leaders from the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals student club delivered presentations, as well as Visit Greater Palm Springs and OneFuture Coachella Valley.

Student DJs from PAWS Radio provided music on the lawn with activities and games coordinated by the Rancho Mirage Student Center.

Garner Holt Fast Pitch

Two PDC students, Alexander Ivy and Justin Vazquez, recently participated in the annual Garner Holt Student Fast Pitch competition at Garner Holt Studios in Redlands, California.

This event, hosted by CSUSB’s School of Entrepreneurship and the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship, is a highlight of the year - a chance for students to pitch their innovative ideas in front of a live audience.

"Donut Worry" Pet Therapy event

The CSUSB Palm Desert Campus was filled with smiles and wagging tails at the "Donut Worry" pet therapy event, where students had the opportunity to de-stress as they prepare for finals week with some adorable therapy pets and, of course, delicious donuts! It was the perfect way to take a break and pet some furry friends.
