Coyote Cares Day
Each year at both our Palm Desert and San Bernardino campuses, students, staff, faculty and alumni unite to give back to our local communities for Coyote Cares Day.
On Feb. 22, a group of dedicated volunteers from the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus spent the day at the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission doing yard work to help beautify their facility in Indio.
A second group stayed on campus working on two special projects:
-Writing letters to the elderly for "National Letter to an Elder Day" which encourages sending heartfelt mail to brighten an elder's day and ease isolation, reminding them they are loved and valued.
-Cleaning, coding and sorting children's books for distribution, in partnership with the Inland Empire Children's Book Project, which provides free books to organizations that serve low-income children in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
Way to go, Yoties!
