State financial aid deadline extended to April 2

Nachhattar S. Seven Coachella Valley high schools competed in the 20th annual Academic WorldQuest competition at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus on Feb. 13. The event was facilitated and coordinated by Michael Karp, assistant professor of history at PDC.

PDC Career Showcase


The CSUSB Palm Desert Campus Career Center successfully hosted the PDC Spring 2025 Career Showcase on Feb. 27, bringing together 18 regional employers offering paid job and internship opportunities.


This dynamic event provided an essential platform for students to engage directly with recruiters, explore career pathways and enhance their marketability before graduation.

Coyote Cares Day


Each year at both our Palm Desert and San Bernardino campuses, students, staff, faculty and alumni unite to give back to our local communities for Coyote Cares Day.


On Feb. 22, a group of dedicated volunteers from the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus spent the day at the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission doing yard work to help beautify their facility in Indio.


A second group stayed on campus working on two special projects:


-Writing letters to the elderly for "National Letter to an Elder Day" which encourages sending heartfelt mail to brighten an elder's day and ease isolation, reminding them they are loved and valued.


-Cleaning, coding and sorting children's books for distribution, in partnership with the Inland Empire Children's Book Project, which provides free books to organizations that serve low-income children in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

PDC kinesiology students continue their work with the Coachella Valley Firebirds


CSUSB Palm Desert Campus kinesiology students are taking what they've learned in the classroom and applying it to real life situations.


They recently assisted the Coachella Valley Firebirds with mid-season follow up body composition testing at the Acrisure Arena.


Hands on experiential learning opportunities like this help our kinesiology students gain a better understanding of what a future profession in the sports industry would be like. With unique learning experiences like this, our students can take the content learned in the classroom and apply it to a real world sports setting.

Gents Alliance Car Show


On Feb. 8, PDC hosted the 2nd Annual Gents Alliance Car Show, in partnership with OneFuture Coachella Valley, which welcomed high school students, their families and community members to campus for a day of fun, learning and networking.


Attendees had the opportunity to see amazing vehicles, connect with local organizations and businesses, and discover pathways to careers and post-secondary programs.
