Happy May!

This month brings warmer weather, blooming flowers, and gala season for nonprofits as we push to meet our financial goals by the end of the year. Unfortunately, the cost of putting on an event like this is high, so CSV has decided not to host our annual dance party this year. With the increased demand for our tutoring and mentoring services, we must focus our human and financial resources on supporting students.

We are still fundraising, though. Our online auction — open now through May 16 — has something for everyone, from the practical to the luxurious. In addition to checking out the auction, please consider donating to CSV what you would have spent on a ticket to the event. You can donate through the auction site, our website, or by sending a check.

We value our relationships with you, our supporters and volunteers, and we're committed to maintaining these connections. We will continue to host meetups like Pizza Night at American Flatbread and Pint Night at Remnant Brewing. Be on the lookout for announcements about these and other events in our newsletter, website, and social media. And, of course, we will celebrate our extraordinary volunteers, teachers, and students each April at our annual appreciation event, which honors our partners in this work. Your contributions make our community thrive, and we're grateful for your continued support.

With gratitude,

The CSV Team

We are so grateful to have had the pleasure of working with our data science intern, Erin Liu, this school year. She has made an invaluable impact on the development of our data science infrastructure. Erin is originally from Orange County, California and is currently finishing up her 3rd year undergrad at MIT, pursuing a double major in Artificial Intelligence and Brain/Cognitive Science. This summer, she's very excited to be traveling to the UK. After graduation, she's going to continue her studies at MIT for a Masters in Engineering. We wish Erin the best and will miss her positive vibe in the office. We have no doubt the future holds bright things for her!
