Subject to the CT State Bond Commission (SBC) approving bond funds for the CT Dept. of Economic and Community Development’s (DECD) Brownfield Remediation and Redevelopment Program at one of its upcoming meetings, the Office of Brownfield Remediation and Development (OBRD) is publishing its new 2020 application forms on its website (www.ctbrownfields.gov).
Potential applicants can access the new Pre-Application and Full Application forms by visiting the following links for each program:
The application forms are being posted in advance of the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA), to provide applicants interested in applying for the OBRD programs, a head start in filling out the forms and gathering the required information. OBRD will publish the NOFA on its website soon after the SBC approves funding. Please be sure to refer to the NOFA for allowable funding amounts, award criteria, deadlines for submission and other information.
At this time, potential applicants are welcome to submit the Pre-Application Form for DECD’s screening and approval at any time after this announcement and before the deadline that will be announced in the NOFA. All Pre-Application Forms should be sent to [email protected]. If the attachment sizes are large to be sent in an email, the drop-box/cloud information can be provided. A response email will be sent back acknowledging receipt of the pre-application form submission package.
The following are tentative deadlines for submission of the Pre-Application Forms, from the NOFA date. Final dates will be confirmed when the NOFA is published.
- Targeted Brownfield Loan Program – 2 weeks
- Municipal Brownfield Grant Program (Assessment and Remediation) – 4 weeks
- Municipal Brownfield Grant Program (Assessment-only) – 4 weeks
The pre-application step is intended to filter applications based on threshold statutory eligibility criteria. All applicants have to be approved at the pre-application stage prior to being invited to submit a Full Application Form for any project. Applicants and projects will be sent an Approval/Denial Notification via email.
