This workshop will present attendees with a basic understanding of gravel and gravel roads. It will provide information on factors affecting the condition of gravel roads and the proper techniques of maintaining a gravel road. This workshop is designed to help you manage gravel road problems. The solutions offered include proper maintenance techniques and long term improvements.
Who Should Attend
This class is designed for Directors of Public Works, Highway Superintendents, Foremen and Road Crew members.
Any municipal employee who works on or is responsible for the maintenance of gravel roads is encouraged to attend.
Course Instructors
Mike Smith is the Baystate Roads Technical Training Specialist. He was a Highway Superintendent for 20 years where he developed and implemented modern road maintenance techniques. Mike was responsible for day to day operation and long range planning for the municipality.
