A CT Traffic Signal Academy Workshop

Preventive maintenance is a key component of an effective traffic signal management plan. This roundtable discussion will provide an opportunity for municipal agencies to share knowledge and best practices for traffic signal preventive maintenance. Examples of preventive maintenance checklists and other resources will be provided.

In Connecticut, municipalities can be held liable for defects in the roadway, which include improperly maintained traffic signals. An agency may be found negligent if it fails to maintain traffic control signal equipment in a reasonably safe condition. Performing regular preventive maintenance can help agencies mitigate their risk and keep traffic signal equipment in good working order.

The session’s panelists will include traffic signal technicians with CT DOT, municipal and vendor experience:

Mark Zampini – CT DOT
Jeremie Pickett – Town of West Hartford
CJ Gandza – City of New Britain
Chris Henry – City of Hartford
