Transitioning to Supervision

A CT ROAD SCHOLAR PROGRAM ELECTIVE WORKSHOP

This workshop is designed for new supervisors, especially those that are transitioning from a front line staff role. Succeeding as a supervisor requires more than technical skill and years on the job. This class will focus on enhancing those leadership skills that are also integral to success—delegation, giving instruction, evaluating performance and giving feedback.

Who Should Attend

This class is designed for individuals who are interested in becoming supervisors, are newly promoted supervisors or those supervisors that wish to improve their leadership skills and be more effective communicators.

Public Works Directors, Highway Superintendents, Crew Leaders and Foremen are encouraged to attend.

Course Instructor

Dr. Rockie Blunt is president of Blunt Consulting Group, a

Massachusetts-based firm that offers management and

workplace communications training services to companies and organizations throughout New England. In his extensive

experience with transportation agencies, Rockie has built a reputation as a lively speaker who delivers informative presentations.

Rockie is also an adjunct instructor in continuing and career education at Assumption College.
