A CT TRANSPORTATION LEADERSHIP PROGRAM ELECTIVE WORKSHOP

Being a leader is more than delegating tasks and making sure people do their jobs. First and foremost, you are responsible for the people in your care. When you focus your efforts on helping your team succeed, you will evolve into a successful leader.

This class will help you to understand your role as a leader and how to change a group of individuals into a collaborative team. We will present concepts on team dynamics that lead to trust and collaboration, laying a foundation for the whole team’s commitment to achieving results. You will be introduced to how to run small group meetings, practicing your leadership skills, and building trust in the process. You will learn from each other as well as from the facilitator, sharing best practices and lessons learned.

Course Instructor

Jiro Sumada is a Transformation Facilitator. Although he was trained as an engineer, Jiro has a wealth of management experience as well. He spent over 13 years leading several large government organizations in Hawaii, including several years as Deputy Director for Highways at the Hawaii DOT. Using a style of “Managing with Aloha”, he has worked with public works agencies involved in road and highway maintenance, engineering and

construction, and land use planning and construction permitting. With this broad range of leadership experiences, Jiro provides teambuilding and leadership training to both public and private organizations.

Cost:
$125 - State and Municipal participants

Approximately one week prior to the class, you will receive an email confirmation of your attendance, along with instructions on how to log on to the webinar.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: The registration fee is refundable if notice of cancellation is received 48 hours prior to the start of the program. Registrants who are unable to attend and do not cancel in advance are subject to the registration fee.
