Growing Great Leaders and Building Better Teams Through Conflict

A CT TRANSPORTATION LEADERSHIP PROGRAM ELECTIVE WORKSHOP

Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a great boss? As leaders, our job is not only to be the best we can be and get work done efficiently and safely, but we also need to show the next generation how they can become great leaders. This class examines what it takes to be a great leader and offers

suggestions on building better teams, including handling certain conflict situations. Through a balanced use of directing and coaching, managers can create the right environment for future leaders to thrive and build teams that are excited about the work they do.

Course Instructor

Jiro Sumada is a Transformation Facilitator. Although he was trained as an engineer, Jiro has a wealth of management experience as well. He spent over 13 years leading several large government organizations in Hawaii, including several years as Deputy Director for Highways at the Hawaii DOT. Using a style of “Managing with Aloha”, he has worked with public works agencies involved in road and highway maintenance, engineering and construction, and land use planning and construction permitting. With this broad range of leadership experiences, Jiro provides teambuilding and leadership training to both public and private organizations.

$125 - State and Municipal participants

Cancellation/Refund Policy: The registration fee is refundable if notice of cancellation is received 48 hours prior to the start of the program. Registrants who are unable to attend and do not cancel in advance are subject to the registration fee.
