Good afternoon, CTA members.
Local municipal elections are scheduled for March 14, 2023, in a number of cities throughout Palm Beach County. While many of these elections have already been decided as a result of having only one candidate qualify to run without opposition, there are still a number of contested races taking place throughout the county.
As you may recall from our previous election communications to members, the PBCCTA is a member of the Palm Beach/Treasure Coast AFL-CIO Central Labor Council (CLC). The CLC is a coalition of local trades unions.
The AFL-CIO CLC/CTA evaluate candidates for office and ballot questions to offer our endorsements. AFL-CIO CLC/CTA endorsements are made primarily based on candidate stances on public education, organized labor, and worker rights. Variables such as electoral viability and community support are also considered.
In an effort to solicit resident insight from our membership into the upcoming election cycle, we have created the survey below.
***Disclaimer*** Both the AFL-CIO CLC and CTA PAC committees are empowered to endorse/not endorse in any given election. With 7,000 members, there will always be a healthy mix of opinions and candidates who are supported/opposed by individuals within our Union. This survey will serve as a guide and provide information to our committees, but not bind any potential action by either the AFL-CIO CLC or CTA PAC. The survey is to solicit your personal knowledge and experiences within a given city and with the candidates filed to run.
This survey is 100% anonymous. You will not be connected to or contacted in any way if you participate.
DO NOT SHARE THIS SURVEY OR LINK WITH ANYONE.
THE SURVEY IS FOR CTA MEMBERS ONLY AND WILL BE OPEN FOR A SHORT WINDOW TO RESPOND.
