In the last 30 days, 14 ACCC
®
Conductor Installations have been completed and energized. There are currently 44 active ACCC Conductor installations with start dates for 23 additional ACCC Conductor installations scheduled. Surprised? Don't be. ACCC Conductor offers the ability to improve the efficiency, capacity, reliability and resilience of the power grid, worldwide.

PLN Completes 500 kV Quad Bundled ACCC
®
Conductor Installation in West Java
With the support of contractors KSO PT Sangkan Jaya and PT Prima Estika, PLN (Persero) TJBB completed and energized their 500 kV quad bundled Suralaya to Balaraja transmission line on December 30
th
, 2019. The project started on November 12
th
and was completed very quickly by using six separate teams on six defined sections. Support for the installation was also provided by PLN, PLN Engineering, PT KMI Wire and Cable, and CTC Global’s Licensed Service Provider PT Dinamika Elektra Mandiri.
PLN selected Amsterdam size ACCC
®
Conductor to replace Dove size ACSR conductor to increase line capacity without the need to modify or replace existing lattice structures. Average span length was ~480 meters with the longest span over 890 meters. One section included a substantial mountain crossing. The 61.5 circuit kilometer project used 746 kilometers of ACCC Conductor manufactured by PT. KMI Wire and Cable with ACCC Core produced by CTC Global. Compression Fitting Hardware was provided by Dervaux.

SA Power Networks Completes 2
nd
ACCC® Conductor Installation in Australia
CTC Global is pleased to report that SA Power Networks successfully completed their second ACCC
®
Conductor installation last month in Adelaide, Australia.
The new 6.5 kilometer 66 kV “Goolwa to Middleton” line utilized Helsinki size ACCC Conductor mounted on steel monopoles replaced an older line where corrosion had taken its toll. The lines, which were moved to a new position are made from ACCC Conductor which has greater strength, less sag and is better suited to harsh coastal conditions with the bonus of needing fewer poles to carry the weight.
In the next ten years, SA Power Networks plans to build a new substation at Middleton to meet the growing power demand in the area and have coordinated current maintenance with future plans to keep costs and impacts for electricity customers as low as possible.
The work was done before the busy summer tourist season to minimise any disruption to holiday plans.
The average span was approximately 300 meters with the longest span at 424 meters. ACCC Conductor for the project was supplied by Taihan and hardware was supplied by PLP. SA Power Networks did their own engineering and construction.
SAPN crews used Tesmec pullers and tensioners. ACCC Master Installer Shariffudin Abdullah provided preconstruction training and project review. Michael Parr of SAPN reported that the project went well with no issues.
The project supplies 8,000 residents and businesses in the Goolwa community.

CTC Global is pleased to announce that our highly regarded
Conductor Comparison Program
(CCP™)
software is now available online. The new
web-based version
has all the features found in the Excel version, which has been replaced and will no longer be supported. The new version is designed to make it easier to use, and it also has some new features. Having CCP online will make it easier to keep it up-to-date with new wire files and other data, and to add improvements as they are made. Users will always know they have the current version every time they log in. CCP is also compatible with tablets.
Registration to use CCP requires only a valid email address and password. Users may also use CCP as a guest however, saving and export features are only available to registered users.
