Mary will be developing resources and workshops for faculty engaging in scholarly inquiry regarding teaching practices, teaching effectiveness, and student learning.

Teaching Excellence Awards 2018-2019

Extend 101: Teaching with Technology mOOC
Ecampus Ontario is currently running an Extend 101 mOOC (A Medium-sized Open Online Course). The course is designed as a professional learning opportunity to extend your teaching with technology: try something new, push your boundaries, take some risks.
It is structured about Simon Bates (2014) characteristics of a 21st Century Educator: (1) teacher for learning, collaborator, curator, scholar, technologist, and experimenter. If you are interested in joining, sign up here
Faculty Learning Communities

 This term our campus learning community will explore folio thinking in relation to our own evolving professional identifies as we begin to build out our own WordPress portfolios. All are welcome: Everyone from first time builders to folks with multiple portfolios and personal websites on the go.

Are you interested in and excited about engaging n developing a research question based on your students' learning or your teaching? Together we will learn about the role of teacher as researcher, explore key articles on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and support each other as we move forward to develop a teaching and learning inquiry based on our teaching practices.

BC TEACHING AND LEARNING PORTAL
After a year of working with BCcampus, and as part of the BC Teaching and Learning Professional Development Advisory Council, the CTE is pleased to announce that the new BC Teaching and Learning Portal is live. This events and programs portal will allow post-secondary educators to see what professional development opportunities are offered throughout BC and to participate in those events open to outside institutions. We hope is that this portal will help foster multi-institutional collaborations.
