New course Patient Care I is available in a Canvas shell. Districts may access this through the Canvas Commons, under CTE Ventura County Collaborative. Patient Care I is designed to be the first year course in a two year pathway sequence, replacing Medical Terminology for many district programs. This course was developed by teachers in OUHSD with input from industry and community college partners. A Patient Care II course is being developed and piloted this current year.
Transportation for English Learners to Community College Healthcare Programs is available for VCOE K12 SWP partners for Round 2 funding through October 31. VCOE will reimburse districts for the cost of busses with arrangements made in advance. Contact Erica Perez at

Short videos on community college healthcare programs. These are designed for high school students exploring careers in healthcare. Our Career Education Center offers opportunities for grade 11 and 12 and serve as a springboard to our community college programs. Access in the shared google folder, link below.
Access to mental health education modules. Free Online Suicide Prevention Training is available for California Middle and High schools. Resources introduce students to careers in mental health. Healthcare teachers are invited to embed this suicide awareness content into pathway curriculum.
This 90 minute asynchronous training is available free for students. Students earn a certificate when they finish, which may be turned in to the teacher.
