National Policy Seminar Highlights
The 2026 ACTE National Policy Seminar (NPS), held March 22–25 in Arlington,Virginia, brought together career and technical education (CTE) professionals from across the country to focus on advocacy, policy, and elevating the voice of CTE at the national level.
The CTE for All Division was proud to be represented, with members engaging in leadership and advocacy training, connecting with ACTE leadership, and participating in Capitol Hill visits. These efforts reinforce the importance of expanding access to high-quality CTE programs and supporting learners in their pathways to success.
Opportunities like NPS continue to empower our members to advocate for students and strengthen the impact of CTE at both the state and national levels.
During this time, the March Board meeting was also held, where the CTE for All Division was honored with the Membership Achievement Award for both the highest numerical increase (70 members) and the highest percentage increase (7.11%).
Thank you to all who represent CTE for All and champion the important work of supporting learners as they explore, plan, and achieve their career goals.

CTE Day at the Capitol Spotlight
CTE for All Division Fellow, Dr. Devon Winters, shared that in February, students from Waterloo Community Schools’ Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) traveled to Des Moines, Iowa, for CTE Day at the Capitol. Students had the opportunity to engage directly with state legislators and advocate for the value of career and technical education.
During the visit, students met with lawmakers to share how CTE programs have influenced their academic paths and career goals. Representing a range of CTSOs including business, health sciences, information technology, agriculture, and skilled trades, students highlighted the importance of hands-on learning, industry partnerships, and real-world skill development.
In addition to legislative meetings, students participated in networking sessions, explored displays from other schools, and attended sessions focused on education policy. The experience provided valuable insight into how policy decisions impact education while reinforcing the importance of student voice in shaping the future of CTE.
Events like CTE Day at the Capitol showcase the powerful role students play as advocates and leaders, and reflect the continued impact of CTE programs in preparing learners for success beyond high school.

Policy Committee Update
The CTE for All Policy Committee continues to make strong progress as a growing division. Members meet regularly to collaborate on advocacy priorities, share regional insights, and identify strategies to strengthen CTE programs nationwide.
We are excited to welcome two new members to the committee: Dan Cullen (Region I Representative) and Dr. Nancy Awdziejczyk (Region III Representative). Dan brings experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, along with a background in school leadership and technical education. Nancy brings more than 25 years of experience in CTE and is recognized for her work in developing high-quality, collaborative pathways that support student success beyond high school.
We look forward to the continued contributions of this dedicated team as they help guide the work of the CTE for All Division.

Mentorship Program Update
ACTE is pleased to announce the selection of seventeen outstanding mentees and eleven dedicated mentors for the 2026 CTE for All Mentorship Program. ACTE is also proud to partner with IMAGO to support this year’s experience.
The program will run in 2026 from February through December, offering one-on-one mentoring, professional development workshops, program-of-work activities, and networking opportunities.

ACTE’s School Study Visit to the Northern Kane County Regional Vocational System highlights a regional CTE model where districts pool resources to deliver advanced programs and facilities they couldn’t sustain alone. Student Trophy Design Contest: Encourage Your Students to Enter!
Invite your students to design the 3D-printed trophies for ACTE’s prestigious Excellence Awards. This hands-on contest highlights creativity, innovation and real-world CTE skills. First-place designers will receive $1,000 scholarship prize for the winning team, a free one-year lease of a 3D printer for the winner’s school, courtesy of Stratasys and more.
