How long have you been teaching?
5 years and I came to teaching from industry.
What do you enjoy most about your job? I really enjoy helping students reach their maximum potential and achieve their goals. Every semester I look forward to attending graduation commencement and shaking hands with my graduating students. Knowing that my students are prepared and ready for successful careers in the field of electronics gives me great satisfaction.
Why would you encourage a new teacher to engage in their teacher association? I am a member of Association for Career & Technical Education (ACTE), I find the emails and monthly magazines very informative. Through ACTE I am able to keep up to date on Career & Technical Education through news and current events.
If you could change one thing about your classroom environment, what would it be? It is important to constantly evaluate our effectiveness, I am really interested in leveraging technology in a way that benefits students.
What is something about you that would surprise people? My wife and I competed as a team in an Archery Doubles League last fall/winter and we took second place.
What is something you would like to learn to do? I am super excited to learn LabVIEW programming. I am enrolled in the fall semester to take the programming class.
What is one of your goals? One goal that I have, and am currently working on, is the completion my BAS degree - I have four classes left. After I complete the BAS, I plan on working on a Masters degree.
