Director's Insights
Dr. William Storrar shares his insights on the life and work of CTI.
|
The name of CTI's magazine, Fresh Thinking, was a term Dr. James McCord, our founder, used to describe the Center, "...an environment most conducive to fostering fresh thinking on a host of problems facing religion and society." Fresh thinking on how to live wisely in a global era is becoming increasingly all the more important, accentuating the need for CTI's advanced study of theological matters.

Exploring connections between Religion and Economics
The first Tea & Talk of the semester inspired thought provoking conversations.
|
Director William Storrar and Member Scholars, Devin Singh, Leslie Wingard, Marcia Pally, and CTI Friends at the September Tea & Talk in Luce Hall, Princeton.
|
An integral part of CTI’s program is fostering an environment where scholars and the public meet in a free exchange of ideas. Tea & Talk is a perfect forum for these different perspectives to come together in a joint and lively conversation to see how we can better relate to the world around us.
Three of CTI’s scholars-in-residence kicked off the September Tea & Talk by delving into the long history of connection between religion and economics and the extent these original ties impact our society today. Friends of CTI joined in raising questions and sharing observations on the overlapping influences.
There will be several opportunities throughout the coming year to join in these powerful conversations. Mark your calendars for the upcoming
public lectures: Inequality & Catholic Social Teaching on October 17, and Sin, Servanthood, & Social Inequality on November 14. See details below. Video recordings of these lectures will also be posted on our
website.
