“Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.”  Ephesians 5:1-2

How does it feel to know that you are dearly loved?

Not just loved, but dearly loved.

Think about that for a moment.

Let it sink into the core of your being.

You are dearly loved .

It doesn’t matter what you said, thought or did yesterday, you are dearly loved. God loves you. He doesn’t base his love on whether you said or did the right thing. He doesn’t base his love on how hard you worked yesterday. He doesn’t wait to love you until you have helped someone else. God dearly loves you because you are His child.

“Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children... ”

As you learn to comprehend the reality that you are dearly loved, then being imitators of God comes naturally. When, in the core of your being, you believe in this fact that God dearly loves you, your daily life is changed. When your spiritual DNA is aligned with the truth that you are dearly loved, you will think, speak and act out of that love.

Take time today to ponder/meditate/receive this truth: you are dearly loved by God.

Father, help me to slow down enough each day to remember that your love for me is based on what your son did by dying for my sins and rising from the dead.  Remind me that I am dearly loved. Amen.
